NZFMA’s New Zealand Debt Capital Markets Guidelines

5 September 2022

The NZFMA’s Debt Capital Markets Working Group has recently developed a set of guidelines which aims to outline best practice in the operation of New Zealand’s Debt Capital Markets (DCM). The guidelines are intended to provide DCM participants - including issuers, investors and intermediaries - with guidance on best practice in primary market issuance of DCM instruments. The guidelines are not binding and not intended to be a wide-ranging primer on all aspects of debt market issuance. They are, however, designed to prompt DCM participants to consider the best interests of the wider market when undertaking market activities or making decisions.

NZFMA would like to thank all DCM Working Group members for their valued contribution in developing the guidelines: Chair Mark Butcher (LGFA), Mat Carter (Westpac), Carolyn Ng (ANZ), Mike Faville (BNZ), Danny Keane (CBA), Matt Collin (NZDM), Sandeep Parekh (RBNZ), Iain Cox (ANZIM), Paul Morris (Milford AM), David McCallum (Craigs), Alastair White (Spark), Sarah Minhinnick (NZX), Andrew Parsonage (Jarden), Luke Ford (Chapman Tripp), David McLeish (Fisher Funds) and Fergus McDonald (Nikko AM).
