Chris Henderson (Deputy Chair)

Chris is currently responsible for the financial markets sales and distribution business at ASB across foreign exchange, interest rates and commodities. Chris joined ASB in 2003 and since then has held client facing portfolio management and leadership roles in all segments including Commonwealth Bank of Australia, NZ.
Chris started at Westpac Wellington in 1995 and held various roles in financial markets sales and Short-Term Interest Rate Risk trading, primarily Forward Foreign Exchange. Chris also spent time with Westpac Sydney in the Group Treasury focussing on funding & liquidity.

Andrew Allan
Head of Markets New Zealand

Andrew joined the Institutional New Zealand Leadership Team as Head of Global Markets, NZ in September 2008. This role encompasses interest rate, foreign exchange and commodity trading, management of the bank's liquidity portfolio, sales related services, origination, underwriting, structuring, risk management, advice and the sale of credit and derivative products globally.
Prior to this Andrew has held a variety of roles in ANZ's NZ Global Markets business including most recently Head of Interest Rate Trading.
Before joining the bank, Andrew was a lecturer in Finance at Victoria University of Wellington.

Philippa Fourbet

Philippa is the General Manager, Markets for Bank of New Zealand, responsible for financial markets sales, trading, research and capital markets.
Philippa has over 20 years' experience in financial markets, initially with BNZ in New Zealand and then internationally with NAB and Deutsche Bank. She holds a BCom from University of Otago, the NZ Stock Exchange Diploma and the Australian Securities Institute Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance & Investment.
Within the industry, Philippa is on the NZFMA Board and is an INFINZ member. She is the founder of Domaine Rewa which produces and distributes fine wine and is co-founder of The French Potter.

Chris Leuschke
CEO of WBC NZ and Head of Financial Markets
Chris is CEO of WBC NZ Branch and Head of Financial Markets for New Zealand, responsible for trading, research, distribution and origination activities across all products.
Chris joined Westpac in 2012 and was responsible for leading the Foreign Exchange and Commodities business, then became the Head of Distribution before moving into the Head of Financial Markets role in 2019 and then CEO Branch role in 2021.
Chris brings with him a wealth of experience with over 25 years' experience across Global Markets both locally and internationally. Prior to returning to New Zealand, Chris spent 12 years in London in various senior roles at Citigroup and the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), his last role in London was Global Head of Foreign Exchange Sales.
Chris holds a BCom, in finance and economics from Auckland University.

Mark Butcher
Mark was appointed Chief Executive of the New Zealand Local Government Funding Agency (LGFA) in 2014 and his prior role was Treasurer at Auckland Council. Formerly he held senior trading and sales roles across derivative, interest rate and debt products with domestic banks and in the institutional wealth management sector as Chief Investment Officer at Perpetual Capital and General Manager of Alliance Bernstein New Zealand.
Mark currently holds several investment governance roles including Chair of Waikato-Tainui Group Investment Committee and a member of the Nominating Committee for appointments to the board of New Zealand Superannuation Fund Guardians. He was a former director and establishment board member of LGFA.
Mark holds a B Comm, is a CFA charter holder, INFINZ fellow and a Chartered member of the Institute of Directors.

Phil Newport
Phil is Head of Fixed Interest in ACC’s investment team. In this role Phil has overall responsible for management of ACC’s fixed interest, cash and currency investments and he has held this position for over 23 years. Prior to this Phil worked as a fixed income analyst at Prudential Portfolio Managers in New Zealand before being promoted to the Head of NZ Fixed Interest based in Australia.
Phil has had a long association with the NZFMA, regularly attending the NZFMA’s Credit Markets Committee, as a member of the NZFMA’s Benchmark Oversight Committee, prior its disestablishment (due to the establishment of NZFBF as independent benchmark administrator) and working groups that devised risk free rates.

Kate Le Quesne
Director of Financial Markets
Reserve Bank of New Zealand
Kate Le Quesne is the Director of Financial Markets at Reserve Bank of New Zealand – Te Pūtea Matua. She is responsible for managing the bank’s balance sheet to meet monetary policy and financial stability objectives. Prior to her current role, Kate was the Reserve Bank’s Director of Prudential Policy in the Financial Stability Group. Kate has worked in institutional banking in Australia, London and New Zealand, and also held a range of leadership roles at the New Zealand Treasury.
Kate holds a Bachelor of Actuarial Studies and a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) from the Australian National University in Canberra.

Kim Martin
Head of NZ Debt Management

Kim has overall responsibility for the activities of New Zealand Debt Management on behalf of the sovereign, including strategy, operations and leadership. While overseeing NZDM, Kim maintains active engagement with its diverse global investor base.
Her career in finance spans more than 20 years, with roles both in New Zealand and in the United Kingdom. Prior to joining the Treasury, she was the senior market strategist at Bank of New Zealand, specialising in interest rates and foreign exchange. Previously, she spent close to a decade in London, primarily working for JPMorgan investment bank, where she held the role of global equity strategist. She has been an INFINZ mentor since 2016 and was an INFINZ Board member from 2018-2021.
Kim holds a Master’s degree from the London School of Economics.

Sarah Vrede
Chief Executive

Sarah has over 25 years' experience in financial and capital markets, regulation, governance, risk management and applied economics / finance. She has worked in a wide range of wholesale markets' roles in both the public and private sectors in New Zealand - most recently as Director of Capital Markets at the Financial Markets Authority and prior to that as Head of the New Zealand Debt Management Office. Sarah's career began at DFC New Zealand Limited, establishing over-the-counter options products and continued at the Bank of New Zealand in a variety of roles including Head of Derivatives Trading, Head of Treasury Information Technology and Director - Financial Markets.
Sarah was recognised for her effective leadership of New Zealand's sovereign funding strategy in 2018 as New Zealand's Woman of Influence - Global Impact and was awarded an INFINZ Fellowship in 2019, recognising her significant and valuable contribution to New Zealand's finance and capital markets industry.
Sarah's qualifications include a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration in Accountancy / Money and Finance from Victoria University of Wellington and a Master in Economics, majoring in Accounting and Finance, from London School of Economics.
