NZFMA Accreditation and training

The delivery of market relevant and practical training is a key objective of the NZFMA. To this end, it offers a comprehensive range of training programs which provide flexible and relevant solutions for financial market participants. 

The NZFMA provides the following:

• Industry accreditation (NZFMA Accredited Individual Status) for New Zealand over-the-counter (OTC) dealers via the NZFMA Financial Services Accreditation Program.
• Continuing Education (CE) program to maintain practitioner knowledge, skills and integrity and represent the financial services industry in a competent and professional manner.

NZFMA Accreditation

The NZFMA Financial Services Accreditation Program provides dealer accreditation for individuals working within the New Zealand OTC and exchange-traded financial markets.  It has been designed to set out the required standard of performance for individuals operating in these markets.

Employees of NZFMA Member organisations can apply for NZFMA Accredited Individual Status once they have successfully completed this program and all its assessment requirements. 

Australian Accreditation (RG 146)

Students who successfully complete the New Zealand Accreditation Program are eligible to apply for advanced standing into the AFMA Accreditation Program.  For further information, contact Premi Sivanesan at psivanesan@afma.com.au.

Bridging Program

Employees of NZFMA Member organisation who have completed the Australian Accreditation and wish to obtain New Zealand Accreditation can undertake a Bridging course that will allow them to obtain the New Zealand Accreditation. This is a self study course focussing on New Zealand's regulatory environment.
